Comment: Proliferative fasciitis is a rare reactive lesion localized preferably in the muscles of the trunk and upper arm. Most patients are about 50 or older. Histologically the process contains characteristic round cells with basophilic cytoplasm and prominent nucleoli (ganglion-like cells). The muscle fibers are intact. Differential diagnosis includes proliferative fasciitis, nodular fasciitis and sarcomas. Proliferative myositis is benign process cured by surgery
